The Gators wasted no time at all meeting with their top remaining recruiting targets as the contact period resumed this Friday. One of those names Florida is chasing hard after? The #1 JUCO Strong-side DE Dorian Gerald, who received a visit from Gators defensive coordinator Todd Grantham.
Those close to the situation feel that Gerald is a very strong Florida lean, and we anticipate him ending up with the Gators in a months time. Gerald is scheduled to officially visit on the Gators Feb. 2. After Grantham being aggressive in his chase of Gerald, a strong relationship has certainly formed between the two and the potential is shared by both parties for what Gerald could do in the new 3-4 defense.
Gerald was honored to have Florida be in the living room on the first day possible, asserting his desire to eventually sign with the Gators. While Tennessee has previously been the favorite, it looks like Florida is making a charge for the talented JUCO prospect.
